# Why Core Chain?

Core Chain is a decentralized blockchain that provides a secure and transparent infrastructure for the development and deployment of decentralized platforms and smart contracts. Maxi Protocol has chosen to build its platform on Core Chain for several reasons. First and foremost, Core Chain offers a secure, transparent, and decentralized infrastructure that is ideal for building DeFi applications. This infrastructure provides a high degree of immutability and transparency, ensuring that all transactions on the platform are recorded on an unalterable ledger that is resistant to manipulation.

Another key benefit of the Core Chain is its scalability. As the number of users on the Maxi Protocol platform grows, Core Chain can accommodate the increasing demand for transactions without compromising on speed or security. This scalability is crucial for ensuring that the platform can handle high volumes of traffic and provide a seamless user experience.

In addition, Core Chain offers a flexible and customizable framework that allows developers to create innovative solutions that meet the specific needs of their users. This flexibility means that Maxi Protocol can create a platform that is tailored to the needs of its users, ensuring that they have access to the features and functionalities that are most important to them.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://maxi-protocol.gitbook.io/maxi-protocol-whitepaper/why-core-chain.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
